Young Adult Historical Novels
Young adult historical novels (YA historical novels) include many well-written novels that appeal to both young adult readers and older adults. Individual listings of books include recommendations for the age or school grade of readers, where available from the publisher or a guidebook such as RoseMary Honnold's The Teen Reader's Advisor  . Another widely available reference is Hannah Logasa's 2007 book, Historical Fiction - Suitable for Junior and Senior High Schools. Age/grade guidelines are very general: parents and teachers should consider a young person's individual taste and maturity when choosing books for teens or younger children. Most young readers probably know from experience how to interpret age guidelines.
